Set Design Project

Students designed a set for “A Raisin in the Sun” using light, space and movement in their Language Arts and Art/ Design class. Students read and investigated the text, and looked for an important theme. They worked in teams to draw on that theme and create an appropriate set for the show.

From 2D to 3D

Students developed and presented a sculptural form that is 3-dimensional configuration developed from 2-dimensional surfaces. Students were given voice and choice in the media they wanted to use, but also use the laser cutter and other tools in the maker space to create they design.

Face It

Students researched a color of their choice in teams to learn more about how colors represent ideas and emotions. The research colors in different cultures and contexts and found specific pieces of art to justify their ideas.
